Sybille Sauter, Ph.D., R.A.C.

Analyst

Dr. Sauter serves as an Analyst of Cato BioVentures. She also is a Regulatory Scientist at Cato Research and is Regulatory Affairs Certified by the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society. Dr. Sauter has over 20 years’ experience in molecular biology, including 15 years in the biotechnology industry. She has worked in the development of human therapeutics using viral vector–based gene delivery to treat infectious diseases, cancer, and genetic diseases. Dr. Sauter’s areas of scientific expertise include molecular and cellular biology, protein expression, viral vector systems, gene delivery, vaccines, antibodies, and phosphoproteome profiling. Before joining Cato Research, she gained professional experience in several biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, including Baxter Healthcare, Viagene, Chiron, and GenStar Therapeutics. In addition, Dr. Sauter cofounded Virogenics in 2003 and was the vice president of research and development there. She held the position of director of vaccines and immunotherapy at GenStar, and she was a principal scientist at Chiron. Dr. Sauter is based in our San Diego office.
